"So are we still on for tomorrow?" Jade asked. "Defiantly! I can't wait! Their showing all five seasons of Teen Titans plus the lost episode and the movie Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo!" Vanessa exclaimed. Jade and Vanessa were nuts about cartoons, especially the Teen Titans. And later today there was going to be a marathon lasting all weekend. Jade never got to spend time with Vanessa now that she went to Morris Academy, a private school her mother signed her up for. So this was big! "Ok! I'll see you after school!" Vanessa gushed waving. Jade smiled and pulled at her baggy cargo pants. Morris wasn't a normal school. It was exclusive! All the students wore cashmere sweaters with ruffles miniskirts. They wore belly baring tank tops with diamond studs. Their hair probably cost more than Jade's entire wardrobe put together! How could Jade compete with that! "Don't worry, you'll be fine!" Vanessa called as she rushed down the street. It was easy for her to say, thought Jade. She never had to step foot into Morris. Jade looked through one of the clear glass doors of Morris Academy and grimaced. It was Alicia Ruth. She wore a blue tank top and a pink pleated skirt. She had her long blonde hair tied back in a tight ponytail. This meant only one thing, cheerleading practice. And Jade had walked right in on it. Jade shoved her hands into her pockets, they had already seen her. No turning back now. She put on a smile and walked through the door. She was only inside for a few seconds when she heard Alicia. "Hey check it out, a new fabulous outfit from the Salvation Army!" Alicia sneered. The girls behind her broke into hysterics. "Yup, I recognize the smell of old sweat anywhere." Jade hutched over and ran past them. "Wait! I wanted to know what church function you stole those pants from!" Alicia yelled after her. Alicia was the first person she had met at Morris and let's just say, it wasn't a happy memory. Jade ran straight to her class and collapsed in her seat. It seemed like no one really knew how she felt. Vanessa, her best friend in the world was probably hanging out with Marcus (her crush) and Megan (her second best friend) right about now. Not even they knew how she felt. Jade did a quick scoop of the room. Shawn, the class clown was shooting spit balls at the teacher's desk. Lauren, the bookworm was up to her ears in papers and had her textbook open. Kitty, the cheerleading captain was standing by the door with her boyfriend Brad. Brad, the football star had Kitty pinned to a wall and was whispering something in her ear. She giggled and gentle shoved him "Oh, Brad!" she cried. There was one thing that all these kids had in common. They all had Designer jackets, pants, shirts, shoes, boots, sweaters, bags, and purses. Even Lauren had a Designer book cover. What did she have? Vanessa and Jade sat in the middle of the floor in Jade's living room. A popcorn bowl was squeezed in-between them and pillows clustered around their heads. They stared at the TV screen with great intensity that is, until a commercial came on. "I love Robin in this episode." Vanessa said as she got up from her seat. "The Titans have such a strong bond, don't you think." Jade asked. "Yea, I guess so." Vanessa reached for the popcorn bowl. "More popcorn?" "Hmmm…I wish I could be a Titan. It would be so cool!" Jade continued. "mmmhhmmm…" replied Vanessa as she stuffed another handful of popcorn in her mouth. "The Titans are always there for each other, you know." Jade said smiling. She stood up and brushed off her blue and yellow PJs. "Is this a way of getting me back for letting you go to that Morris school?" asked Vanessa. "No. I'm just saying. It's kind of hard going to a school with kids so different, and having no friends." Jade answered reaching for the popcorn bowl. "I know…and I would transfer in a heartbeat if I could." Vanessa said pulling on her orange braid. Jade sighed. She didn't want her friend to feel guilty. It wasn't her fault that Jade was at Morris. It wasn't her fault that Alicia constantly targeted her every day. And it wasn't her fault that the Morris kids were so stuck up! She turned to her friend and smiled. "Let's get some more food before it comes back on." she said heading for the kitchen. Vanessa smiled gratefully and grabbed the bowl.
